Printed Paper Votive Luminary

I hope everyone had a fabulous holiday! Here is a basic project to get back into the swing of things and dress up those plain glass votives! Let your creative juices flow on this one ~ There are so many possibilities...

I started by creating a template. I made two...One with a birdie design here and a blank template here so you can create your own designs!

Print on cardstock and cut out. I used scalloped scissors on the top of the birdie cover to give it a little design.

Fold each cut out on the dotted lines to create the sides of the luminary.

To add some sparkle, I used white glue to outline my image then sprinkle with glitter.

One dried, I lightly rubbed a glue stick on each tab and secured together forming a box. Simply place over a glass votive and light.

A quick and easy way to dress up your candlelight...with practically a $0 price tag. You can easily change designs too or how about just using the template on decorative scrapbook paper. Endless possibilities! Enjoy!

I love the top edge on the first example. I did something similar to this to replace the sleeves that came with my Febreeze Luminary kit: http://madincrafts.blogspot.com/2009/11/febreeze-luminary-replacement-sleeves.html
