The Table is Set…

The Table is Set…

Time to gather, count blessings and enjoy this magical world that surrounds us.
In keeping with the feel of the dining room I dressed the table in shades of silver and white adorned with touches of fresh green pine…
…and a little sparkle here and there.
I love the detailing on the cups and saucers. They are ‘Empress’ by American Atelier in Grey Ironstone.
The white linen napkins are folded diagonal pocket style with a sprig of fresh pine twisted with glass beaded garland.
The chargers are sliver and the dinner plates are antique white topped with silver sparkly snowflakes.
I kept the centerpiece simple and toned down as there is a lot of other glitz and sparkle in the rest of the room…(you can see those decorations featured here in the Christmas house tour)
Tall clear glass hurricanes nestled among a bed of fresh cut greens from our property line each side. Wired glass balls sit on top in sets of three.
I let the fresh cut greens soak in a bath of cool water for 24 hours prior to displaying ~ this allows them to hold an adequate amount of water and stay fresh a bit longer.
I filled each hurricane with a nice layer of plain table salt. This prevents the wax from sticking to the glass once melted and also adds a little shimmer.
A larger glass hurricane sits in the center. I had originally planned to fill this with paper whites but did not get a chance to.
Instead I worked with what I had by taking a grouping of cuttings, securing them together with a strand of glass beaded garland and tucking them in the hurricane filled with a bed of ‘snow’.
The tablecloth was made using black woven jacquard fabric found for $1.99 a yard…four yards and a roll of stitch witchery and it was good to go!
Dinner awaits….
Happy Holidays from Our Family to Yours! Enjoy!
