Boxwood Hurricane ~ A Little Spring Inspiration

Nothing is more refreshing to me than a green and white combination for spring. I started to freshen up our dining room today and created this little piece that turned out to be my inspiration for pulling the room together. All the furniture pieces in the room are black and I’m loving how these colors are coming together.

I pulled the 10 in glass hurricane from my stash. I can not tell you how much I love the versatility of a large plain glass hurricane ~ I can never get enough of them. The pedestal was a thrift store find that I simply purchased because I knew I would eventually find something to do with it. Plus for $8.00 it was a good deal to me considering the size. A quick coat of flat black and it was ready to go.

I flipped over a tarnished silver bowl and placed it inside the hurricane to add a little height to the three wick candle. A few sprigs of faux boxwood tucked around the candle based finished it off. The silver ‘L’ monogram was picked up at Yankee Candle last year. It is suppose to hang from the side of a jar candle but I love the little personal touch it adds to the hurricane.

So simple {and I adore simplicity sometimes}. Now that I have my inspiration I need to get to work on the rest of the room. Spring here we come! Enjoy!
