A New Front Door Wreath {Quick and Easy}

A New Front Door Wreath {Quick and Easy}

The bees decide to make a nest in my front door basket so it had to go. I always love having something on my front door so I put together this quick and easy wreath today. I love a big wreath that fills my door but can never seem to bring myself to spend the asking price of what’s out there. I usually put together all my wreaths using the basics of the tutorial below and even though they may not be professionally done, they are perfect for the short amount of time that I have them up.I started with a basic twig wreath and garland. There are so many different garland choices available that this can be applied for any wreath you wanted to make.

Stretch out your garland and align all the stems in one direction.

Lay the garland around the inner circle of your wreath and cut to size.

Using floral wire attach the garland to the wreath by looping around both and twisting closed. Work your way around the wreath attaching every 6 inches or so.

Trim down the excess wire and fluff. Sometimes I leave the wreath just like this – plain and simple.

Today I wanted to add a little more so I attached a moss wreath to the center by simply wiring it to the back. I had made the moss wreath a few months ago {just reindeer moss glued to a dollar store wreath form}.

I just love the addition of the moss.

I got a lot of response about spraying my least wreath and did in fact spray this one too. Just a light coat of clear spray will do the trick to protect against the elements. {simply clear spray paint} I’m hoping this will work for now as long as our outdoor friends leave it alone. Enjoy!

  29. Absolutely beautiful wreath! I’m just like you…the bigger the wreath, the more I love it! But I don’t love the prices on them sometimes! Your wreath inspires me to create one soon for summer and maybe put some faux lemon slices on it with the moss to bring some yellow color into it! Oh and maybe some silk forsythia garland for more yellow!! My creative juices are flowing!!! – Karen
