Console Finished {white was the winner}

Remember this piece I was working on last weekend....well after two different colors of paint, simple plain white was the winner. The other two colors I had in mind I did really like but once the piece was moved into the entry way they quickly turn out to be too dark and muted with the lighting in the space.

So I ended up going with no-fail white with a little sanding and distressing. {below are some close-ups of the detail}

I am not what you would call a furniture finisher {it's actually not one of my favorite things to do}

but I think it turned out well for the space it is filling...plus it was free =)

The hardware was original; I just spruce it up with a couple coats of oil rubbed bronze spary paint.

If you had a chance to peek inside my home yesterday for the {Parade of Homes} tour, you may have already seen the console in its place.

I used some simple accessories on top for the tour, but I'm sure I will be changing it around shortly. {I need to find some wall art I like as my inspiration first}

I love the look of the lanterns on sitting on the floor and always see them in catalogs with lit candles. {I guess they don't have three year olds or worry like me} My solution = flameless candles ~ love them!

I'm pretty pleased for a free piece of furniture and a little paint!

I'll be back tonight with the Sunday Showcase Party Post!
I hope your projects are ready - I can't wait to see what you've been up to! Enjoy!

For someone who doesn't enjoy refinishing furniture, you did an awesome job. I love it. I've been thinking about using the flameless candles - and tea lights - myself.

Happy Saturday!

Hello sweet Stephanie Lynn - your console makeover is just fabulous! I can't believe it's the same piece. May I ask you what type of paint and color you used? I'm getting ready to repaint my dresser in the living room and would love a good suggestion!

Blessings,

This piece was so pretty to being with and it looks wonderful in the white. I feel about slipcovers the way you do about painting furniture. It's not my favorite thing to do, but I can't afford to hire someone to do it and I love the result. This cabinet looks great and I love how it's arranged. You have a great eye. Thanks for linking up!
