I've Started My Little Guys Bathroom! {Part One - Framing the Mirror}

I'm so excited! I have finally ventured upstairs and start decorating my little guys bath. I decided to have a little fun with this one and go all out on a whimsical theme perfectly fit for my outdoor boy. I have been collecting things here and there over the past year and can not wait to put them all together.

Here is quick snapshot of the bath taken from our walkthrough. {I really hate posting before shots..yuck!} Of course before the fun of decorating some major things had to be done. We decided to keep the tile {I am just not up for a major project right now} though I worked around it and think it's really going to work with the accessories. The paint; I went with green, yes it's green! {and I promise you that it will all come together, promise. ;)

The next huge eyesore {that my husband has heard an earful about} is that mirror. Why oh why...who invented these things? I pondered taking it down and replacing it but quickly changed my mind when I started to price two separate mirrors that would be large enough to fill the space. I love the double sinks but that only means a larger space to fill above them, and big mirrors are not exactly inexpensive. I've seen some amazing DIY framed mirrors around but my husband wasn't exactly up for the job of producing a professionally finished product. See around here I have a two-time ask theory. I ask twice and if I don't get any response I simply tackle the project myself. {any way, any how} With a few online searches I came across an excellent solution that I could handle alone.
Enter my new friend, MirrorMate. I have seen MirrorMate and their product advertised before and was drawn in by how simple, quick, and easy these frames claim to be. The three biggest selling points for me; no special tools required, custom made to fit any size mirror and no talent needed to hang. Definitely something that I thought I could handle by myself and quick enough to have completed in one afternoon before my husband even got home from work to comment.
They have a lot of different styles and colors that can be ordered directly from their website {here}. All I had to supply was the measurements of the existing mirror and answer a few quick questions about how it was hung. The box arrived quicker than I expected and included everything, I only needed a hammer!
The frame came in four separate pieces that perfectly fit together. I just applied a little glue {which was included} to each adjoining end and aligned them together

The frames are prefabricated with two channels and come with connectors that simply needed to be hammered in; that easy. It was dry and ready to hang in one hour. {enough time to enjoy a nice lunch with my little guy}
The frame came with two cardboard placement corners that adhere right to your existing mirror. These hold your frame in place and assure proper placement. The back of frame comes complete with several attached adhesive strips. Once the cardboard placements were hung I simply peeled off the backing from the adhesive strips and hung the frame pressing into place.
Once secured I removed the cardboard corners and it was completely done!
No cutting, no measuring, no tools and no needing to ask for my overworked hubbys help!
The corners fit perfectly and I am amazed at how easy this was to put together and the transformation it has made.
Hubby didn't get off that easy though; he got to re-grout the tile {it's still drying in the picture} Thank you MirrorMate for helping me make this a lot easier than I expected!
