Cupcake Carnival ~ Cupcakes Stands for Special Treats

cupcakes
I’m so excited to be participating in
The Cupcake Carnival
over at Kimberly’s Attempting Creative today!

I’m sharing how to make these cuties!

Before you go check them out, everyone needs an adorable stand to perch your yummy deliciousness on, right?

For just three dollars, some spray paint and Gorilla Glue you can make two of these cuties, one for you and one to share with your cupcake partner in crime!

Begin with two glass saucers and a pack of two glass candlesticks both from the Dollar Tree. The saucers were found in the dinnerware section however, the sticker on them said candle plate.

Flip over the plates and candlesticks and give them both a few coats of your favorite color spray paint. Once dry, attach the two together with some Gorilla Glue Epoxy.

How Darling!

If glass is not your thing {or you want to make them for the kiddies}, Rachelle from Fingerprints on the Fridge Shows you how to make them out of wood! Super cute!

If being crafty isn’t your thing {though these are super easy!}
Here are a few retail options…

  1. These are super neat, Stephanie! Love this post.

    XO,

    Sheila :-)

  2. Very cute!!!

  3. Oh my word, Stephanie! My husband is gonna think I’ve gone off the deep end when I bring home a thousand colors of spray paint and a thousand packages of Dollar store candlesticks and saucers. I love it!!! So, you use the plastic fusion paint even though it’s glass, huh? Good to know. I never know what kind of spray paint to use on what. Do you seal them? I just love this (I know I already said that, but I love them that much!!)

  4. Hi Stef – I used the fusion spray paint becasue it was the ‘red’ I had on hand. It works very well on glass. I have also used regular spray paint with the same results so I think ‘any’ would work. I did not seal these and the paint stays put just fine. I would recommend hand washing though. Since you are only painting the bottom of the top plate the surface is still ok for food and you can wipe it clean! Have fun! ~ Stephanie Lynn

  5. Oh my WORD! Those are about the cutest thing I have EVER seen! adorable!

  6. STEPHANIE! OHHHH MAAAAAa GOOOODNESS! NOT only is that STAND just the CUTEST thing EVER but I absolutley LOVE love that cupcake! About 5 years ago, my oldest daughter was tap dancing to a routine about the movies. SO we made MEGA HUGE popcorn box facades and I did the pop corn out of spray foam insulation and painted it. I think they’ve tried to incorporate these into every recital since ’cause they are so cute. (BUT soo expensive with all those cans of spray insulation…wasn’t coming out of my wallet! LOL) I bet your cupcake is soo delish too but almost too cute to eat!

  7. WOW! Let me repeat that – “WOW”! I swear you have the best ideas!

  8. O my goodness! Those popcorn cupcakes are TO DIE FOR!
