DIY Recycled Tire Swing

DIY Recycled Tire Swing

It has actually taken my husband a full year of walking aimlessly around the property to finally find the perfect tree for our tire swing. Since the two main components of the swing were recycled from our recreational Jeep, the only thing we needed to purchase for this project was the hardware and chains; a very small price to pay for loads of classic, old-fashioned fun that will be around for years to come.We {my hubby and I, as this is bit more 'his' project}, began with a large 37" used tire.The following galvanized hardware was purchase Continue reading

Coffee Table to Bath Bench

Coffee Table to Bath Bench

There is not much to this makeover other the amazing power of paint. I really wanted a bench for the little guys bath and had intentions to build one; until I stumbled across this beauty in the thrift store.Since I had previously look up some building plans, I knew the standard height for benches is between 17 and 19 inches. This table was exactly 17 inches tall making it just the right size. The 36 inch width was perfect for under the bath window and the 19 inch depth was a little bit bigger than a regular bench but would work in the space. Continue reading

30 Days til Vacation {A Countdown Calendar Hanger}

30 Days til Vacation {A Countdown Calendar Hanger}

I was thrilled to share this project over at UCreate last month for Kari's readers. I thought I would share it here as well in case you happen to miss the post. Even though summer is coming to a close this countdown calendar can be made for pretty much any holiday or special occasion with the change of a few colors and wording. Thanks again Kari for inviting me over! I know I, myself, get excited counting down the days to sandy beaches and carefree days ~ and as my son gets a little older I'm sure this will come in handy as the summertime Continue reading

Just a Few Things…

Some All of my days usually do not go as planned. That's ok, as I think it adds a little excitement to life {at least that is what I tell myself}. I have seen CSN stores on many different sites and was trilled when they contacted me to check them out and pass along the chance for Continue reading

Catching Fireflies; The Faux Decor Version

Catching Fireflies; The Faux Decor Version

A lot of us can recall fond childhood memories of running around the neighborhood, on warm summer nights, catching fireflies. We would place ours in a ventilated jar creating a magical glow for a few hours before letting them fly away free, night after night. Keeping with our whimsical 'bug' bath theme, I thought it would be a cute to re-create a little faux jar that would give off that same warm magical glow for my little guy once the sun goes down.I found some small 1/4" Button Plugs in the wood section of my local craft store. They ran $1.19 Continue reading
