Twine Wrapped Christmas Star Ornament by Rebekah at All Thingz Related {Ornament No. 9}

It’s my pleasure to introduce
Rebekah from All Thingz Related

Twine Wrapped Christmas Star{Handmade Ornament No. 9}Welcome…Rebekah!
Hi there! I’m Rebekah over at All Thingz Related! I feel so honored to be here because Under The Table and Dreaming is one of the very first blogs that I started following! It is definitely one of my favorites! A huge thank you, Stephanie, for having me today!
I wanted to make something that was simple, using what I had on hand.
Supplies:

  • Star template
  • Cardboard
  • Ink pen
  • Scissors
  • Glue
  • Twine
  • Embellishments
  • I started by cutting out a double star template. I drew and printed one from Excel.

I traced it out on THICK cardboard (foam board would work too) and cut it out, removing the center.

Take the twine (I used 2-ply) and wrap a good amount around a scrap piece of cardboard. This way, it will be easier to get the twine through the center of the star. Now glue the end of twine down at one of the “v”‘s of the star.
Start winding your twine tightly around the star, gluing as you go. I used craft glue.

Don’t worry about the tips of your star right now. We will get to those in a minute.

Continue all the way around your star with the twine, gluing as you go, until you get to the place where you started. Cut your twine and glue the end down. I tucked my end under another piece.

Now for the tips…glue the end of twine over the tip of the star and let dry for a minute or two. This will hide the end.

Now start wrapping your twine around the tip, gluing as you go, until you get as far down as you want to go. Tuck under the end and glue. Repeat for the remaining tips.
Glue on a hanging loop. (I used hot glue for this step because I’m impatient).

Finally, add any embellishments that you like! Ribbon, bells…I cut out holly leaves and berries from felt and glued them on! Our tree isn’t up (yet) so I tied my ornament onto a package! I love how it turned out!

    Have fun!

Thank you Rebekah! I love the natural rustic feel of the twine and it looks adorable as a package topper!

Our next guest blogger will be coming up in just a few hours; In the meantime head over to All Thingz Related and say hello to Rebekah!

All Thingz Related is a collaboration of two handy sister-in-laws {Rebekah and Bridgette}. They are definitely not afraid to tackle any projects big or small {and they even occasionally use a power tool or two}. They have a unique style that is all their own and shines in their incredible projects {along with fantastic tutorials} Here are just a few of my favorites: Rustic Clock, Oversized Spool Bookends and Candle Lantern.
