Creative Ways to Display Cupcakes
Contributed by Noelle & Kerry

At Sweet Craft Cakes we are all about cupcakes. These tasty treats set the tone for any event. In years past we focused on creating unique cupcakes with little pieces of candy and a lot of imagination. Truth be told they usually looked great, but all that extra “stuff” really detracted from the yummy taste of a cupcake. Someone had a brainstorm and created cupcake toppers, gorgeous images displayed on a piece of card-stock. Just as cute without ruining the taste of the delicious cupcake. Genius! We love to take this concept a little further by creating unique “stands” to display these little works of art. Get creative, think outside the box. Look around your home, garden, and thrift shops to find inspiration for fun ways to display your cupcakes. There are so many ways to set the scene of your party with your cupcake stand! Here we will share with you different ways to get creative with out using your traditional cupcake stand.

Have you ever seen a cupcake stand quite like this before?

We had so much fun styling this Under the Sea “Mermaid Party”. We knew we had to do something to create the under the sea experience for the cupcake stand. We thought “Live Fish” would be the perfect extra detail we needed to pull it off. We hot glued beach glass and star fish around 3 cardboard cake boards. Next we layered the stand with fish bowls. Then sprinkled brown sugar to represent sand. The party guests thought it was fantastic!

For this elegant “Tutu Cute Glam Elmo Party” we knew we needed something that screamed “Glamour” we scoured craft and discount stores looking for elegant candelabras. We hit the jackpot in the Beverly’s Outlet store and found 3 chandelier candelabras. We pieced them together into one amazing stand that become the centerpiece of our dessert table.

What’s a “Pirate Party” without a treasure chest? We borrowed this chest from a friend and filled it with pieces of wood. We disguised the wood with gold and gems making it the perfect way to display our pirate cupcakes

We also used wood crates, driftwood and pirate themed decor to display more cupcakes.

For this “Flowers and Fairy Dust Fairy Party” we looked for a natural element to display the cupcakes. We found this piece of driftwood in the yard.

For this “Moodylicious Spa Party” we used the spa treatment table to display the cupcakes!

Another fun way to display your cupcakes is to serve them in Mason Jars!

For my little sweeties “Cupcake” 1st Birthday. My husband built this cupcake tower from plywood, pvc pipes and a wood dowel. I attached ribbon and tulle with a hot glue gun.

For this “Art Party” our sweet customer used candle stick bases from the Dollar Store and spray painted them white. Then she added a mini plate to the top. She also made an edible painter palette.

To capture this rustic setting for our “ladybug party“, we used a large log chip, with bark, and faux grass.

For this “Sweet Monkey” party we made a cupcake tree by securing branches in a terra cotta pot. We cut small sections of a branch to make platforms for the cupcakes to sit on.

This elegant jeweled cupcake stand was the perfect find to feature our “I Love Paris In The Springtime” cupcakes!

Finding the perfect props to feature your cupcakes helps to create unique one of a kind cupcake stands that will have your guests talking about, and sharing, with their friends.
