Deep Fried Oreos {Dadgum That’s Good! Recipe}

Deep.Fried.Oreo.Cookies…need I say anymore.
These will definitely have you saying {maybe even screaming}
Dadgum That’s Good!
{warning though – they may not be the best thing for swimsuit season as I am pretty sure I have almost ate the whole batch while writing this post}

And I’m thinking for the GF fans this recipe could be easily adapted to spice up any GF cookies – like KinniToos or Glutino Chocolate Vanilla Creme – Just use Pamela’s Baking & Pancake Mix
or Bisquick Gluten-Free.

This is just one of the delicious recipes from John McLemore’s newly released cookbook, “Dadgum That’s Good!”and these cookies are just that. Frying the oreos gives the outside the most amazing coating – it’s like eating a funnel cake and cookie together. It takes me straight to feeling like I am right at the fair and has my kitchen smelling the same too!

Deep Fried Oreos
by Dadgum That’s Good!
Ingredients Needed:
Oil for cooking
1 Large Egg
1 Cup of Milk
2 Teaspoons of Vegetable Oil
1 1/2 Cups of Pancake Mix
1 {18 ounce} Pack of Oreo Cookies
1/2 Cup of Confectioners’ Sugar

I used a regular frying pan on my stove top for the frying.

In a medium bowl mixed together the egg, milk and vegetable oil. Stir in the pancake mix – making sure there are no lumps. Dip the cookies into the batter one at a time – coating each side. Place in the hot oil – frying only a few at a time so there is no overcrowding in the pan.

Fry the cookies for 1 minute on each side, until the are golden brown. Drain on a paper towel and sprinkle with powdered sugar.
