50 Different Foods You Can Put in a Jar {Saturday Inspiration & Ideas}

50 Different Foods You Can Put in a Jar {Saturday Inspiration & Ideas}

A couple weeks ago I posted 50 different things to do with mason jars…though all the ideas were creative and fun, none of them had anything to do with food. I thought the whole concept of food in a jar deserved a post all of it’s own.

So this weeks Saturday Inspiration post is dedicated to all the glorious foods … You can put in a jar: desserts in a jar, bread in a jar, appetizers in a jar, meals in a jar, drinks in a jar… I think you can pretty much put anything in jar and it instantly becomes a million times cuter!

  1. OMG! These all look so good. The s’mores one really got my attention. πŸ™‚

  2. These are all gorgeous and yummy. Yet another great idea to repurpose jars.

  3. LOVE THIS POST! Thanks for all the great ideas in one place. I am hosting a small party next week and I think I will try the Mojitos in a jar! Thank you!

  4. This post has inspired my hunger! πŸ˜€
    I love the idea of the Whiskey in a Jar Chocolate Cake!
    There’s something a little devilish about eating food from a container, be it cake from a jar, cereal from a box, or ice cream straight from the tub. I think jars win for cuteness, though!

  5. That title called me over and the photos sucked me in.
    Of course now I need to go in search of the previous jar useage post. (Maybe you could link it to the first words of this tale?)
    You know I will be back to look at this and then share it as well.

  6. I am in love with jars right now and want to make everything in them! I have gotten rid of my glasses and we are using jars instead.
    I made blueberry banana bread in jars:
    And I made cupcakes in a jar for 4th of July:

    I love the chili and cornbread in a jar idea but am wondering how many people wold burn their hands trying to eat them. I am thinking a jar cozy might be in order!

  7. I have a bunch of half pint jars to use as party favors and love the cheesecake idea! Seems very easy…wonder how long they would last once made?

  39. So inspired. New ideas to add to my mason jar obsession…

  40. I have 40 jars under the kitchen sink. Now I have a purpose to re-use them other than disposing of old used cooking oil in. And I have plenty of bread mixes to put into those jars. I was just thinking to myself, how hard it is to fit a loaf of bread into a gift basket. The jars will work so much better. By the way, how do I get my hands on some of those mini jars?? Too cute!

    • kathy bailey :

      I but my smaller jars at dollar tree. They have wonderful seals. Of course slot harder to find now with everyone into this. Also, I find it is really convenient to use the med jars for the drinks stored in drug. When I come home xxx with juice, look aid or whatever, I put liquid in jars. Easier to grab and go. Older children (grandson is almost 11) and he loves it. Drinks right from can and puts top back on after each sip, ‘m o spill and no waste. If not finished put back in drug

  41. How long do you think the cakes and such are safe to eat? Thinking about sending a couple of these in care packages when my husband deploys.

  55. What a beautiful post! I’ve pinned it. I’m trying to find some creative ways to do foods for the farmer’s market. I’m also trying to figure out if people would purchase these small meals for a lunch since they would be for individuals not a whole family. Hmmmmm
