Gallery Walls ~ Pictures, Prints and Collection Collages {Saturday Inspiration & Ideas}

It takes me quite awhile to commit to actually hanging anything on my walls,
especially since we moved.
Seeing all the tiny nails holes left to be repaired when we took everything off the walls in our old home
did not leave a pretty picture in my mind.

Needless to say many of my new walls are still blank canvases. I am intrigued though by gallery walls and though it may take some time for me to embark on such a project as major as some these below – there is nothing wrong with a little eye candy to assist in the planning.

This week’s Saturday Inspiration and Ideas is dedicated to some fabulous displays of photos, prints and collections. I just adore the eclectic feel of Gallery Walls and the added personality they bring to a space.

  1. A gallery wall was the perfect solution to a tall wall in my living room. I love having the “canvas” to play with, and change it frequently as I acquire new pieces and my design tastes change.

My favourite are the one’s where the collections are eclectic, such as the Pottery Barn wall.

    Thanks for the lovely images.

  2. We just did an all white version in our family room. http://www.tealandlime.com/2011/07/photo-gallery-wall-finished/
Thank you for the additional inspiration…I want to make more gallery walls now!

  3. I am like you. I use to have a huge gallery wall, but now I just find less is more in most places. However after looking at the breakfastroom wall, I guess I still have a gallery. lol Hugs, Marty

  4. I love all of these! I’m currently working on one in my living room. Which reminds me, the reason I came over to the computer was to print off pictures for the empty frames, but I can’t peel myself away from the computer, ha!

  5. I have a gallery wall in my living room right now – I am moving on the 31st so I’ve been slowly taking down pictures. And you are right, seeing the holes revealed makes you re-think doing it all over again. But, I think I will because I just LOVE the look! Thanks for sharing these great pics!

  6. I really want to make one, but we are renting the house that we just moved into. they don’t really want us to put holes in the walls. i was thinking about getting some of those 3m hooks that don’t leave holes or residue and then doing a gallery wall. i just don’t know if i want black or what or colored frames. the walls are like a cream/tan color and all of the trim is white. i’m thinking black, but i have a thing for teal right now….hmmmm

  7. Love all of these awesome gallery wall finds! I think the sock monkey rocks…inspired for sure! Thanks for the share! Tweeted too!POP ART MINIS

  8. WOW…What a collection of wall photos…Thank you for all of the ideas..

  9. Hi Stephanie, Yes I finally commited to a gallery wall for all the kids photos. I iniatially wanted it going up the steps but knew thay would constantly need straightening so I opted for a wall to the right of my family room fireplace which turned out to be the perfect spot. I use all white frames, a few I sprayed myself I’m just sorry I didn’t do it sooner.

  10. We have one in our dinning room. Great finds.. I like the Elle Decor attic one but find the first one just a but much..

  11. I love your creative ideas and must say that I admire the tremendous amount of creativity, energy, and effort it must take to do the fabulous presentations that you so generously share with so many!. I have a curious creative dilemma that I have been stymied by (with?) and that it an overwhelming amount of old wooden shoe “lasts” that are at my disposal (These are various sized wooden foot forms once used to make shoes). Can you (Stephanie),or anyone help me with some sort of direction (beside the fireplace) I could take with these?. I have a photo available if anyone is curious. Sincerely, Sharon
