Turn a Recycled Water Bottle into a Game Day Noise Maker {Super Bowl Party Craft}

There is just six more days left to kickoff and even though our team did not make it to the Super Bowl this year, we will most likely be tuned in next Sunday anyway. {or at least I will be checking it out during the opening ceremony, half time, and of course the commercials}

To add some excitement to game day for my little guy, I decided to put together a super easy noisemaker that actually combines a couple of projects I have posted in the past. These can be put together in no time {costing next to nothing using recycled water bottles} and it is something the little ones can even help make as well.

I just love the red white and blue {funny how both teams have practically the same colors} and think they would be super cute to take along with us when we watch the Fourth of July Parades in the summer. {a recycled craft you can actually recycle again – think of it as a two for one – even if football is not your thing}

Materials Needed
Recycled Plastic Water Bottles {completely dry}
White Rice {or beans}
Food Coloring
Printable Labels {below}
Double Sided Tape
Hot Glue or Super Glue {optional}

Additional Materials Needed: Bowls & Spoons, Cookie Sheet lined with wax paper, Funnel, Printer

Begin by removing any labels from the water bottles and rising them out – leaving them to completely dry.

Scoop some rice into a bowl, add food coloring and stir to mix well.

Spread the rice onto a cookie sheet lined with wax paper and leave to dry.

Use a funnel to transfer the rice to the water bottles.

For variety I used some dried black eyed peas to add some white.

Of course they will not stay layered long {especially if you have a toddler helping you along} but they sure do make a pretty presentation to have sitting around for a party!

I made some simple labels that can be printed, cut and simply taped to the bottles.

You can download the Patriots Labels {here} and the Giants Labels {here}

A dab of hot glue {or super glue} can be added to the lid before screwing it on for some added security against curious little ones.

These are great for sensory seeking kiddies like my little guy. I actually made a spin off project that I will be sharing tomorrow.

Lots of great football themed food, desserts and more party fun can be found on last last years Super Bowl Ideas and Inspiration post {here}.

I’ll be back in the morning with the Tuesday {ten} – hope you can join in the fun ~ Enjoy!
