I’ve Got My Eye On… Ceramic Egg Crates

I’ve Got My Eye On… Ceramic Egg Crates

My mom and I were making our family dinner plans for Easter the other day and suddenly realized this year is an early year for Easter - March 31st - just a little more than a month away. I got excited as I remembered these two ceramic egg crates I picked up over the holidays and had stashed away just for Easter. They both were found at TJ Maxx on two different shopping excursions. One was $2.99 and the other $3.99. I thought they would make the cutest display to showcase CJ's Easter Egg creations. Now that I have dug them out and it's Continue reading

No Sew Hanging Pennant Banner | Playroom Felt Bunting

No Sew Hanging Pennant Banner | Playroom Felt Bunting

I can honestly say I don't think I have done this many consecutive posts that contain so much color. If there ever was a lack of bright colorful hues around here - I sure am making up for it in CJ's sensory playroom. The white walls in this space work perfectly with the radiant furnishings, however, once everything was in place the ceiling was looking a little bland. I figured the easiest way to add a touch of color was a hanging pennant banner - plus they just scream playful fun, right? I have made a few hanging banners in the past Continue reading

Paying it Forward with Potted Bulb Gift Ideas | plus a gift card giveaway

Paying it Forward with Potted Bulb Gift Ideas | plus a gift card giveaway

This post brought to you by iBulb. All opinions are 100% mine. This time of year I get excited with anticipation as I begin to see colorful blooms appear in my favorite shops and garden centers. The sight of these potted bulbs scream one wonderful thing to me - spring is near. It awakens the little plant addict inside me and I have a really hard time leaving without bringing something home, each and every trip. I love the cheerful addition potted plants can add to room and I not only like using them in my own home - but love giving them Continue reading

DIY Indoor Playroom Climbing Ladder

DIY Indoor Playroom Climbing Ladder

Yesterday I shared the indoor rock climbing wall we put together for CJ's sensory playroom. While the wall has been used tremendously since it was originally installed, it wasn't until a couple weeks ago that we had the idea to add-on an access ladder. We decided on a partial climbing wall mainly to address CJ's therapy needs.  As our little guy has become stronger and a bit more confident, random objects have suddenly started to appear in front of the wall  - used as stepping stools to get to the holds when we are not directly working on Continue reading

Kids Indoor Rock Climbing Wall | How we put together our playroom hang boards

I'm back to share more sensory playroom details. I am hoping these posts will help answer, in depth, the questions I have received from the few pictures I have previously shared. If turning one of your rooms into a playroom is nowhere on your list of things to do - I will be back to some house stuff once this room is complete ;) Today we are highlighting the climbing wall we put together for CJ. This particular climbing wall was put together with specific therapeutic needs in mind, however, any kiddies that have entered the room have had a Continue reading

Mini Appetizer Recipe Ideas – Valentine’s Day Dinner for Two

Mini Appetizer Recipe Ideas – Valentine’s Day Dinner for Two

Happy Valentine's Day.. I still can't believe it is the middle of February, already. While many of you probably already have plans set - I am happy to say I just finished making my shopping list. We will be celebrating at home, low key - indulging in a special planned meal, as usual. While I am still quite obsessed with all of the mini tasting dishes used for our pre- Super Bowl Party - I thought it would be fun to incorporate them into a home-cooked dinner this year. The plan is to make a cozy little buffet for two, consisting of all Continue reading
