Jingle Bell Pinecone Ornament | Welcome to the Fourth Annual Handmade Ornament Series. This week a line up of fabulous friends will be stopping in each day to share some creative Homemade Christmas Ornament ideas.
Please welcome our next guest Shannon from Fox Hollow Cottage
Hello and Merry Holidays from Shannon at Fox Hollow Cottage.
It’s a delight to be here today with both Stephanie and you!
I’ll be sharing how to make a Jingle Bell Pine Cone Ornament for the Handmade Ornament Series.
There have been some really lovely ornaments shared so far.
I hope you are in a rustic, snowy-white kind of Christmas mood
because my ornament is kind of natural looking and woodsy.
I kept it simple. But you could definitely add some glitter to this bad boy!
Glitter makes everything better in my opinion, and mine will be getting the sparkle treatment. In honor of the purists, I kept it natural for the tutorial. Enjoy!!
YOU WILL NEED:
– Pine Cones
– White craft paint
– Craft brush
– Little metal eye hook thingies. Hey keeping it real. I think that is what they are called?
– Just, Hemp or Sisal twine
– Scissors
– JINGLE BELLS (they make me happy!)
This is such a nice, simple craft. Could actually be made by kids as well. Totally family friendly.
There is just nothing you can do wrong!
TO MAKE:
1. Start by painting your Pine Cone with white craft paint.
Just brush the paint along the edges for a light “dusted with snow” look.
2. Once paint is dry, screw the little hooks into the base of the pine cone.
Note-If you like, you can reverse steps one and two and screw the base into and already painted cone.
3. String your first cone as shown above with the twine doubled, using a slip knot.
4. Add the second cone about an inch up from the first. Secure with a traditional knot.
Then slip the JINGLE BELL on.
5. Add the third and final cone. Finish with knot.
6. Tie a twine bow and add an ornament hanger. You’re done.
These are really cute as embellishments too! Nestle them in garland or add it to a bottle of wine or a package for that homespun feel.
Wishing you and yours a wonderful, magical, merry holiday season.
I’ve been crafting, painting, creating and generally making a mess for about as long as I can remember. I’m so happy to be blogging and sharing my adventures now. Most days I’m all about cheap and easy crafting and decorating, but my husband and I have done some pretty big project too. My husband is the other half of the diy duo at Fox Hollow Cottage. We’ve remodeled, gutted, installed dry wall, made over a few fireplaces, added rustic fence board counter tops and recently put in hard wood floors to name a few. We even got our son in on the action with that last project! I’ve always got something going on and your welcome to pop by anytime. Thanks for taking the time to read a little about me.
