Summer Entertaining – outdoor poolside party #pier1outdoorparty | I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting (#MC) for Pier 1 Imports. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and to thank me for participating.
We love to entertain year-round – though the summer season is simply our favorite. Considering most of our summer entertaining is spontaneously thrown together – it seems as if the last minute planning comes together so easy and effortless.
The gorgeous weather combined with the beautiful scenery this time of year create the perfect backdrop for any kind of get together – not to mention the diy party deck, that I think Butch is finally finished adding on to.
While it doesn’t take much to transform this amazing canvas into a party ready oasis, it’s always fun to add in a few new accessories each year. While I really like some of the current trends, my heart is always drawn back to versatile pieces with classic lines that are able to stand the test of time.
I recently picked up some of these pieces on behalf of Pier 1 Imports for our first official poolside party of the summer season. Pool parties are all about having fun so around here, on the pool deck, everything is kept simple and carefree.
Our new oversized outdoor tray corralled the main menu items: classic mini burgers and sweet potato fries – along with some chips and salsa.
The burgers were kept fresh and free from any pests under this large glass ‘Bon Appetit’ dome – which was paired with a glass platter to add some height.
The sweet potato fries were divided into individual servings and nestled into mini dessert cups.
Perfect grab and go portions.
To keep the party chips fresh and crisp they were placed in large glass jars.
I love the presentation – so easy and much better than a crumbled bag laying on the table.
The fresh salsa was also divvied up into individual serving dishes. I just adore tasting sets and mini servers of any shape and size.
Fresh strawberries were also served in individual glass servers.
As for the drinks, fresh lemonade was served in this classic mason jar drink dispenser.
Tossing in some lemon slices makes it look so much more refreshing.
Sugar rimmed glasses were available for the drinks. It takes just a minute to prepare the glasses and makes such a fun presentation. I used the same method for our mimosa bar – though this time around I tinted the sugar to match the lemonade.
The rest of the bottled drinks were tossed in this self serve beverage tub along with some ice.
No party atmosphere would be complete without the ambiance of some glowing candles. Large oversized lanterns are my favorite and as soon as the sun went down these babies got lit.

I love the chips in the glass jars! That’s brilliant! I usually put them in a bread basket, but then worry about them getting stale, so this is the perfect solution. Your presentation is beautiful!
Everything looks so beautiful. I love the way you displayed the food. Keeping the chip in the glass jars is so clever.
I love all of these Pier 1 items and you’ve used them wonderfully! Such a great display and so inviting!
