Treats for our Extra Special Feathered Friends

Treats for our Extra Special Feathered Friends

It has been a rough winter for our outdoor friends this year. {I could easily tell by the numerous times our secured trash ended up scattered across our property} I can't hold that against them though, as my little guy loves to bird watch, so we made some Easter treats today to welcome them around. I used the same 'recipe' that I made for our Valentine for The Birds back in February. It is a quick and simple mix of 4 Tablespoons of Knox Gelatin, 1 Cup of Water, and 2 Cups of Bird Seed. For the step by step tutorial click here. The cute Continue reading

Flowering Easter Egg Centerpiece Tree

I wanted to share a little more info on the Easter Egg Tree centerpiece I made for the kiddie table. If you are still looking for a last minute table decoration this is a super easy quick project to add some festive fun to your decor. I'm sure most of you already have everything on hand to make this as well, which is an added plus! The key is finding the perfect branch, which may require a nice walk in the woods. {not so bad} I gave my branch a couple coats of white spray paint until it was completely covered and placed in a vase anchored Continue reading

The Kiddie Table is Set

The Kiddie Table is Set

I have so much fun putting together the kiddie tables for each holiday. I'm usually a natural neutral person but love to use color and whimsy for our little guests. This Easter three of our little friends won't be able to join us so we are left with only four. They always enjoy seeing what theme and surprises await them in their own little space. I used a lot of mixed pastels and a bunny theme this year. The place cards are made from felt and were super easy to make. {I posted the tutorial yesterday ~ You can find it here} The plates Continue reading

Super Easy Easter Place Cards For The Kiddies {Egg Holders}

Super Easy Easter Place Cards For The Kiddies {Egg Holders}

It was such a gorgeous day today that I had to ditch the tablescapes and play with my little guy outside. We had fun and there is always tomorrow. I did manage to start on the kiddie table and came up with these cute place cards for our little guests. These are incredibly easy and festive, plus I think the kiddies will get a kick out of them! I started by drawling a rough template by hand. I made the base 1 1/4 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches long to ensure it would hold and go around a plastic egg. To get the ears semi-even I folded the Continue reading

Framed Easter Dinner / Brunch Menu

Framed Easter Dinner / Brunch Menu

I adore entertaining, especially holiday family dinner parties. There is nothing better than everyone gathering in the kitchen while the last minute dinner preparations are being completed. Kids running around, adults reminiscing, and the boys trying to sneak a taste of the upcoming feast; pure ciaos that I simply love. I can honestly say that I get so involved in the fun that I have sometimes forgot what’s even on the menu {yes, I have been known to finally sit down only to remember a dish I had planned to make get left behind} Last year Continue reading

Chocolate Nests and Egg Cakes {GF/WF/DF}

Chocolate Nests and Egg Cakes {GF/WF/DF}

This year is a challenge for me since my son has been diagnosed with several food allergies {wheat, dairy, beef, and peanuts to be exact} leaving a very limited number of foods in his diet. With Easter being commercially known for chocolates and sweets I am left on my own to create a few tasty treats that are fun. I admit a lot are trial and error however this one is a keeper. All of the ingredients I used comply with the restrictions of his diet however, these could be easily made using regular substitutes. I started with one cup of Continue reading

Bird Nest Napkin Folding ~ Easter Table Setting

Bird Nest Napkin Folding ~ Easter Table Setting

How does Easter always seem to sneak up on me? I just realized we have a little over a week left to prepare for the festivities. Since I'll be hosting dinner this year I thought I would start to put together my table. I'll share what I have come up with so far, as I still need to think about the centerpieces and other elements. I purchased a couple sets of brown napkins from Target awhile back at an incredible price of $2 {and some change} for a pack of four. Granted they are not absolute perfect squares {as you will be able to see below Continue reading

For The Kiddies ~ Spring Art & Crafts Edition Part One

For The Kiddies ~ Spring Art & Crafts Edition Part One

It's time again to update the 'Kiddie Art Gallery' for spring. I haven't forgotten about posting pictures of the finished wall however, I admit, I still need to add a few trim pieces for it to be complete {and that is still on my to-do}. Meanwhile, my little crafting buddy has been busy again getting messy and creating a few masterpieces. I appreciate all the feedback from the St Patrick’s Day Edition and I am thrilled, to say the least, to see so many little budding crafters out there. If you decide to create any art with your little Continue reading

Fabric Covered Easter Eggs

Fabric Covered Easter Eggs

Wow, I just looked at the calendar to realize we only have four weeks until the Easter Bunny visits {how did that happen?}! Time to break out the pastels and get ready for spring and some sunshine...I am so ready!   Thought I would share some fun fabric wrapped eggs. A very simple, quick and low cost project with endless decorating possibilities! Start with your basic plastic eggs found any and everywhere and some scrap fabric. I used pinking shears to cut my fabric in 1/2 inch strips. You can use regular scissors as well - I Continue reading
