Marker Dyed Coffee Filter Wrapped Hurricane Candle Centerpiece – Light it Up Blue ~ Autism Awareness Day

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. My little guy and I took some time these past couple of days to work on a blue project in honor of World Autism Awareness Day - which is today. Our special blue light bulbs, we picked up at the Home Depot, have been lighting the outdoors at night and I thought we should bring some blue indoors too. My little guy loves to color so to get him involved I decided to revisit the coffee filter clover kiddie craft I posted awhile ago. With the assistance of my little helper - a pack of coffee filters and Continue reading

No Sew Faux Fabric Storage Bin Liners {Ikea Expedit Basket Option}

No Sew Faux Fabric Storage Bin Liners {Ikea Expedit Basket Option}

I am a huge fan of hidden storage - especially since my little guy's toys have become such a big part of our household. I can't seem to have enough bins, baskets or storage boxes dedicated to each room; not only corral all the stuff but conceal it as well. So naturally I am also a fan of the ever so popular IKEA EXPEDIT. Since we already had one eight cubby EXPEDIT in the room we picked up another additional unit, in an attempt to squeeze as much storage as possible into my little guys playroom.I really like the finished look fabric liners Continue reading

DIY Magnetic Frame Gallery Wall to Display Children’s Art Work

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I am at a loss of words for all the kind, heartfelt comments that have been left on The Home Depot Table post. Reading through them, and this whole experience in general, just makes us realize how good life really is and how blessed we really are. These simple acts of kindness have given us a new light and renewed our spirits as the past couple of months we have felt a little bit at a loss. {and if you have been reading along I am sure it has shown} So thank you all for that - it truly means a lot.So with Continue reading

Bark Wrapped Glass Hurricane Centerpiece {simple & easy natural decor}

Bark Wrapped Glass Hurricane Centerpiece {simple & easy natural decor}

Happy Friday My Friends. It's no secret I have a love for large glass hurricanes. They are a staple around here as I always have them out - I love the candlelight - and always enjoy giving them little makeovers from time to time. Today it's not so much about the makeover but this super cool 'stuff' I recently found during one of my craft store rendezvous. I am all about natural, rustic, "bringing the outdoors in" decor so I was thrilled when I stumbled upon this Bark Roll at Joanne's. It's part tree - part ribbon and I just love the Continue reading

Make a Yarn Ball Pom Pom Garland {and a wall of free Halloween graphic printables}

Make a Yarn Ball Pom Pom Garland {and a wall of free Halloween graphic printables}

I have another super easy and fun garland to share today - this one a pom pom garland made from yarn. Like the paper garland I shared last week, garlands are a simple way to add to your seasonal decor as all you have to do is switch up the colors and your ready for a whole new holiday. I like the vintage homemade feel of the pompoms and they only require an inexpensive skein of yarn which can be picked up at your local craft store, or even Walmart for just over a dollar. One skein goes a long way - as with this garland I used three colors and Continue reading

Repurposed Brass Lighting Fixture turned Outdoor Candle Chandelier

Repurposed Brass Lighting Fixture turned Outdoor Candle Chandelier

Candlelit summer nights on the deck are pretty awesome. When we built our deck last year I envisioned a chandelier of some sort hanging from the upper deck to cast a little ambiance onto the seating area below. As I looked at a few different options I wasn't that please with the light given off by the regular bulbs that many of the fixtures required. There were a few chandeliers that had candle glass shades, which I love, but of course they were pretty expensive not to mention, any hardwired fixture would require running additional electric. I Continue reading
