Fall Felt Circle Wreath {Guest Post featuring Crafts ‘n Coffee}

Fall Felt Circle Wreath {Guest Post featuring Crafts ‘n Coffee}

Have you made a wreath for your front door yet this season? My plan this weekend is to tackle our front porch and do some festive sprucing up. While I'm still pondering a few different concepts for my wreath this year - I'm pretty smitten with this unique use of felt from today's guest post designer Kathleen George, a featured contributor at Crafts 'n Coffee. This Felt & Flowers Fall Wreath makes me feel warm & cozy, just like a favorite fall sweater. While it’s made from simple materials – felt and a wreath ring of STYROFOAM Brand Continue reading

Recycled Sweater Wrapped Wreath {Whimsical Keys for Santa}

Recycled Sweater Wrapped Wreath {Whimsical Keys for Santa}

This is just to add a little whimsy to the decor...{plus I'm determined to use every inch of the chunky cable knit sweater I cut up} This is incredibly easy to do; I purchased a 16 inch foam wreath form - the square-ish kind - and laid the scraps of cable knit sweater out across the top; aligning the cable knit on seams. The sweater was then wrapped around to the back of the wreath and hot glued into place. The access was cut and the two ends were then pulled taut and hot glued together. Since the sweater has so much give it is really easy to Continue reading

Garland Wrapped Wreaths {Easy & Inexpensive DIY Faux Wreath}

Garland Wrapped Wreaths {Easy & Inexpensive DIY Faux Wreath}

I wanted a little something this year to dress up the double doors in our family room. I was thinking fresh wreaths but decided to go faux since I wanted them to hang on the inside; the doors are used quite a bit to access our deck and all I could imagine were falling needles every time the doors were opened or closed. I made a couple garland wrapped wreaths last year for my kitchen; simple and as easy as can be. The foam wreath forms came from the dollar store and the inexpensive 'green pine' like garland can be found pretty Continue reading

DIY Faux Curled Rosewood Wreath {Made From Rolled Recycled Book Pages}

DIY Faux Curled Rosewood Wreath {Made From Rolled Recycled Book Pages}

I have seen various versions of Faux Rosewood Wreaths in just about every store and catalog for the upcoming season; most with a price tag running upwards of $40 or more. Some are crafted of paper and other of real wood shavings. Last year I made a few rolled flower gift toppers from recycled book pages and they remind me so much of the curled wood roses I thought they would make a good substitute. {with a much lower price tag}Materials Needed:Foam Wreath Form Recycled Book Pages Lots of Hot Glue Ribbon to Hang The full step by step Continue reading

How to Make a Homemade Birdseed Wreath {for the birds}

How to Make a Homemade Birdseed Wreath {for the birds}

This is a wonderful craft to get the little ones involved with to treat our special feathered friends as the weather gets colder. They are made simply by combining gelatin and pre-mixed birdseed and are completely safe for the birds to snack on as food become scarce this time of year. We have a lot of fun creating new shapes for each holiday simply by picking up plastic or tin molds from our local thrift store. {you can usually find them anywhere from 50 cents up to a dollar} A couple weeks ago I found this cute round cake pan and thought it Continue reading

Creepy Crow’s Nest Halloween Wreath

Creepy Crow’s Nest Halloween Wreath

I'm really not a huge decorator for Halloween; I like to decorate more for fall in general which usually carries me through to Thanksgiving. {It’s like getting two for one} I do have one little nook this year that I am dedicating to Halloween though; spooky & creepy...in a good sort of way. I started by taking apart the poor wreath {here} that has been on my front door all summer long {yes, since April}. The center of the wreath was a dollar store foam form simply covered with reindeer moss {hot glued on}. The hot sun definitely took its Continue reading

Family Monogram Wreath Sign – Cut and Routed with The Dremel Trio

Family Monogram Wreath Sign – Cut and Routed with The Dremel Trio

I like monograms because they are classic, understated, and never go out of style. I admit, I have a fair share of these little letters plastered around our home as a visual reminder of what my last name starts with {maybe just a little too much} so this time I decided to make a family monogram for the outside of our humble abode. I began by tracing a shape I had onto a scrap piece of thim plywood and cutting it out with the Dremel Trio. The Dremel Trio's versatile cutting bit and 360 degree cutting technology allows you to make cuts in any Continue reading
