Make Your Own Microwave Popcorn Packs {Outdoor Adventure Party Favors}

Make Your Own Microwave Popcorn Packs {Outdoor Adventure Party Favors}

I have one main goal in mind when coming up with party favors for my little guys parties...trying to find something that our little friends will actually want to take home and use {or in this case eat}. Last year's Pirate Party candy bar was a huge hit among all of our attendees, big and small. The kids loved the idea of being able to pick and choose what they wanted to put into thier treat bag and thought it was the coolest ever - exactly like the saying, a kid in a candy shop. This year I used the same concept and put together a Make Your Continue reading

Earth Day Tasty Treats {Cake, Cupcakes, & Krispie Treats}

With Earth Day right around the corner I thought I would make some tasty treats to Celebrate this special day. ~Earth Cake~ Make you favorite cake batter and divide. {I used a gluten free mix for my little guy} Tint equal amounts of batter green and blue. {Select brand Food Coloring is all natural, organic and gluten free; other gluten free brands that I know of are Spice Island and Durkee} Scoop spoonfuls of each color batter into your pan. I used half of a Sports Ball Wilton pan for the globe shape, however you could easily use Continue reading

Healthy Summertime DIY Freeze Pops

Healthy Summertime DIY Freeze Pops

Nothing like a quick and easy ice cold treat to cool you down on a hot summer day. As a kid freeze pops were a summertime staple ~ we loved them and my mom always had them on hand. I still enjoy a good ole' icy pop, {blue would be my favorite} however I needed to come up with a healthy alternative now that I am more conscious about what’s going into my little guys body. Sure it is less expensive to buy a gigantic box of these at your grocers, but most are packed with high fructose corn syrup and artificial flavors and dyes. By making your own Continue reading

Chocolate Nests and Egg Cakes {GF/WF/DF}

This year is a challenge for me since my son has been diagnosed with several food allergies {wheat, dairy, beef, and peanuts to be exact} leaving a very limited number of foods in his diet. With Easter being commercially known for chocolates and sweets I am left on my own to create a few tasty treats that are fun. I admit a lot are trial and error however this one is a keeper. All of the ingredients I used comply with the restrictions of his diet however, these could be easily made using regular substitutes. I started with one cup of Continue reading

A Green Egg Celebration {GF/DF}

A Green Egg Celebration {GF/DF}

Happy Birthday Dr Seuss! We will be celebrating today with some green egg mini cakes in your honor. These mini cakes were a cinch to put together. The base was created using a Wilton Round Cookie Treat pan and the 'yolk' with a Wilton Silicone Brownie Pop Mold. Fill the Round Cookie treat pan with plain cake mix. My son has several food allergies so I used a Gluten Free ~ Dairy Free batter {that's why the appearance may look a little different}. Scoop out about a cup of batter and stir in a few drops of green food coloring to create the Continue reading
