Antiqued Skeleton Bones – Using Acrylic Paints

Antiqued Skeleton Bones – Using Acrylic Paints

Happy Friday my friends - Just one last spooky project to share before the tricks and treats begin. One of the projects on my fall to-do was a set of the popular glitter skeleton parts see around this year. I really thought it would be a fun project to get my little helper to help me with, though after a few hours of playing with the 'sprinkles' {as my little guy calls them} most of containers seemed to have disappear...like right into the carpet disappear - To say we had glitter everywhere is a complete under statement}. So I decided to Continue reading

Halloween Dining Room Buffet – Console Decor {my faux ‘mantle’ decorations}

Halloween Dining Room Buffet – Console Decor {my faux ‘mantle’ decorations}

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! As October is quickly coming to a close I thought I would share some of our Halloween decor today. I know I have said before that I am not that big on decorating specifically for Halloween, as I like to generalize the season and put up decor that typically gets me through fall, but this year I felt the need the break out the black and orange a little more for my little guys Halloween party we are hosting. Since we do not have a mantle, I like to 'do up' our dining room buffet - and since it's only one Continue reading

Make a Yarn Ball Pom Pom Garland {and a wall of free Halloween graphic printables}

Make a Yarn Ball Pom Pom Garland {and a wall of free Halloween graphic printables}

I have another super easy and fun garland to share today - this one a pom pom garland made from yarn. Like the paper garland I shared last week, garlands are a simple way to add to your seasonal decor as all you have to do is switch up the colors and your ready for a whole new holiday. I like the vintage homemade feel of the pompoms and they only require an inexpensive skein of yarn which can be picked up at your local craft store, or even Walmart for just over a dollar. One skein goes a long way - as with this garland I used three colors and Continue reading

Punched Paper Circle Garland Stamped with PSA Essentials

Punched Paper Circle Garland Stamped with PSA Essentials

With the array of scrapbooking paper available, using it to craft is an easy and inexpensive way to add color and stylish designs to any project. I gave a peek at the paper garland I made when I posted Monday about my new decoupaged plates I made for my kitchen. The paper garland was incredibly easy to put together and adds a little more pattern and color to window. Since I don't really have any orange in my decor, I incorporated the festive color by simply stamping a few circles with my new PSA Essentials kit. Materials Continue reading

Use Printed Fabric to Make Decoupaged Decorative Glass Plates {with Printable Halloween Images}

Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! We are preparing for a festive get together for my little guy and are in full Halloween mode. It's really fun getting into the spooky spirit as even though this time of year is one of my favorites - I normally do not get that much into Halloween decor. So I'm enjoying playing around with the orange and black for a change and decided to start off by adding some Halloween Plates to the kitchen. Plain glass plates are really inexpensive and with a few simple changes can be easily altered to fit in with any Continue reading

Cut Your Own Martha Stewart Paper Mice Stair Decorations {using the Silhouette}

Cut Your Own Martha Stewart Paper Mice Stair Decorations {using the Silhouette}

Martha Stewart's creepy paper mice are nothing new to the Halloween decor scene. I have wanted them for the past couple years, as I thought my little guy would get a kick out of them, plus seeing Sarah's stairs last year made me want them even more. However, by the time I would normally get around to picking them up - they were always sold out. Even though they are just under $6 in the stores, they are also available as a free template on the Martha Stewart site - to cut by hand. I used the template to cut them out with my Silhouette and Continue reading
