Toddler Shoe Storage Bins – A Small Shoe Storage Solution

Toddler Shoe Storage Bins – A Small Shoe Storage Solution

One of the biggest 'space takers' on the floor of our entry way closet is my little guys shoes. Even though we only store his boots and everyday shoes in this space there are still quite a few pairs - {I can only imagine what a closet with a multiple teens would look like - yikes!} While the shoes are still on the small side, I find it best to keep them lumped together and contained in a basket or bin. This eliminates the hassle of searching around for a matching pair, as each tiny shoe around here always seems to make its way to opposite Continue reading

Make Your Own Natural Fiber Sisal Rope Basket

This is one of those projects in my head that I was determined to somehow make work. Once the basics were figured out though, it is a really simple project and I just love the coolness of the completed basket that can be used to hold practically anything.{You can't go wrong with a little more organization, right?} Last week when I announced the monthly projects for the Martha Inspired Craft Along, I immediately loved the idea for the Rope Baskets and even mentioned using a more natural rustic material like sisal roping. Of course the Continue reading

Restoration Hardware Inspired Industrial Baskets with Fabric Liners

One of my favorite ways to combat the organization of my little guys toys is the use of baskets and bins. They can be found in pretty much in every room of our house and I love being able to quickly clean up by simply walking around and tossing things in. I am also rather fond of the fact that they conceal anything inside {not that I am opposed to having Lighting McQueen or Buzz and Woody the focal point of my decor...well kind of} As I mention before I wanted to add a little storage nook to the living room as it seems that room usually Continue reading

DIY Under Cabinet Lazy Susan {Rotating Organizer Stand}

DIY Under Cabinet Lazy Susan {Rotating Organizer Stand}

Like many, I find the storage space I do have quickly fills up; no matter how much I seem to have, I always seem to never have enough. In an effort to maximize the storage space underneath my little guys bath vanity, I put together this simple lazy susan using just a couple purchased supplies and few items around the house. I love the fact that the double tier fills the open space in the tall base cabinets which is usually left unused. The finished project actually turned out cuter than expected and can be used for a multitude of purposes {such Continue reading

Do it Yourself Drawer Organizers {DIY Kitchen Organization}

Do it Yourself Drawer Organizers {DIY Kitchen Organization}

I have two drawers in my kitchen that drive me crazy; the two that hold all the larger utensils and cooking gadgets. I have yet to find an organizer large enough to keep spatulas, spoons, and can openers in line. A trip to the hardware store, a couple pieces of wood and some amazing glue... and you can say hello to organized bliss. Each divider was made with 1/4 inch {thick} Poplar Boards. Poplar is a versatile wood that is easy to work with and glue plus its ideal for cabinetry and furniture. I used 3 inch {width} boards as they were the Continue reading

Burlap Storage Box For Next to Nothing!

Burlap Storage Box For Next to Nothing!

I admit I have a problem with saving catalogs that I often reference for ideas - I can not seem to let them go. I like to keep at least the current year issues handy under my computer desk so I can quickly get to them. Today while doing a little organizing I wasn’t happy with the random basket underneath my secretary desk – It was looking a little cluttered and not really part of the space. I started looking online for storage options and was crazed at the prices of some baskets…$16-$24 dollars! I am sure that they were really nice but still Continue reading
