Halloween Table Setting {Tablescape} & A Make Your Own Grilled Cheese Party

Last weekend we hosted our annual Halloween get together for the kiddies. A casual night filled with family, friends, and full of fun! I was inspired by the infamous duo of Martha and Oprah and decided to try a Make Your Own Grilled Cheese Bar. During the summer we hosted a Make Your Own Grilled Pizza Party and the kids had such a blast being involved with making their own food; I knew they would get the same kick out of the making their own sandwiches. The Kiddie Table is Set

The Kiddie Table is Set

I have so much fun putting together the kiddie tables for each holiday. I'm usually a natural neutral person but love to use color and whimsy for our little guests. This Easter three of our little friends won't be able to join us so we are left with only four. They always enjoy seeing what theme and surprises await them in their own little space. I used a lot of mixed pastels and a bunny theme this year. I started by drawling a rough template by hand. I made the base 1 1/4 inches tall and 6 1/2 inches long to ensure it would hold and go around a plastic egg. To get the ears semi-even I folded the Continue reading

Bird Nest Napkin Folding ~ Easter Table Setting

Bird Nest Napkin Folding ~ Easter Table Setting

How does Easter always seem to sneak up on me? I just realized we have a little over a week left to prepare for the festivities. Since I'll be hosting dinner this year I thought I would start to put together my table. I'll share what I have come up with so far, as I still need to think about the centerpieces and other elements. I purchased a couple sets of brown napkins from Target awhile back at an incredible price of $2 {and some change} for a pack of four. Granted they are not absolute perfect squares {as you will be able to see below Continue reading

The Table is Set…

The Table is Set…

Time to gather, count blessings and enjoy this magical world that surrounds us. In keeping with the feel of the dining room I dressed the table in shades of silver and white adorned with touches of fresh green pine... ...and a little sparkle here and there. I love the detailing on the cups and saucers. They are 'Empress' by American Atelier in Grey Ironstone. The white linen napkins are folded diagonal pocket style with a sprig of fresh pine twisted with glass beaded garland. The chargers are sliver and the Continue reading
